The Importance of Listening in the Suzuki Method
There are many reasons why listening is an integral part of the Suzuki method. Just like learning a language, you must listen to the language constantly in order to know what you are trying to mimic. When learning music we are using the same principle, students must listen to the pieces they are learning in order to mimic them. Through listening students not only learn the notes, but also the the style, speed, and different characteristics contained in each piece.
